Adams grew as the seventh year old within Castle Rock Colorado. She began dancing and acting professionally in the mid-1990s with Boulder Dinner Theatre, and then the Country Dinner Playhouse. In the following year she was in Minnesota in a small local theatre she was chosen to be a part of an unrealized documentary film about beauty pageants titled Drop Dead Gorgeous. Following her successful screen debut, in which she played an unfriendly, but obnoxious contestant, Janet relocating into Los Angeles where she began a professional acting career. She's the mother of Kelly Curtis (and Jamie Lee Curtis) and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began in late 1940s after she was accepted by MGM. Her name was discovered by Norma Shearer. Her role as Norma was featured in several popular films throughout time, like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho from 1960 and Living It Up, a Martin and Lewis film which was released in 1954.
